I truly believe making lifestyle changes doesn’t have to be difficult. Making tweaks and adjustments to your diet or activity level doesn’t need to make you feel like you’re pulling out your hair. When we try to accomplish a million things at once (“I will cut out dairy, sugar, carbs and exercise every day of the week.”) within a strict timeline (“I want to lose 10 lbs in 1 week.”) we are left feeling drained, unhappy, and regretful.
Lifestyle changes are only sustainable when we make small, simple changes gradually over time. Change is sustainable when we are kind with ourselves, patient with the process (and ourselves), and when we give ourselves permission to make mistakes. Making small, simple changes to our eating habits and behaviors can be stress-free, enjoyable, and rewarding when we set ourselves up for success.
In this new series, we will explore ways to make simple tweaks to our diet using the three food groups. We will start with carbohydrates and follow up with protein and fat. I will explain how to make more healthful, nutrient-dense food choices and provide tips, tools, and recipes.
I am excited to start this exciting, delicious journey with you!
All the best,
Dahlia
